Brimstone Hill Fortress

Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site of historical, cultural and architectural significance and it is a monument to the ingenuity of the British military engineers who designed it and to the skill and strength of the African slaves who built it on the steep at the risk and probable loss of lives. Its elevated vantage point offers panoramic vistas of forested mountains, cultivated fields, the historical township of Sandy Point, and neighboring Dutch, English and French islands across the Caribbean Sea.

Fairview Great House and Botanical Gardens

This 18th century Great House has been authentically restored to its former glory with careful attention to historical detail. Step back in time as you wander through the dining room with its sixteen seat mahogany dinner table and antique silver service, as well as the Historical Room that chronicles the fascinating past of Fairview.

Old Treasury Building & Museum

It is one of the most outstanding architectural buildings in downtown Basseterre. Built in 1894, this impressive structure has been witness to the procession of life in the nation’s capital for over a hundred years. The treasury building adopted the name “The Gateway to the Island”, as its imposing archway led the way to the streets of Basseterre for many visitors and travelling residents arriving by boat.

Carib Petroglyphs

St. Kitts' history traces back millennia, and nowhere does that become more apparent than along Wingfield Road and Stone Fort River. The island is home to hundreds of ancient rock carvings, the most prominent of which can be found, traced in white paint, on a boulder along the route to Wingfield Estate.

ABOUT NEVIS

Nevis is a small island in the Caribbean Sea that forms part of the inner arc of the Leeward Islands chain of the West Indies. Nevis and the neighbouring island of St. Kitts constitute one country: the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis. Nevis is located near the northern end of the Lesser Antilles archipelago, about 350 kilometers east-southeast of Puerto Rico and 80 kilometers west of Antigua. Its area is 93 square kilometers and the capital is Charlestown.
