Tsavo West National Park
From the sight of fifty million gallons of crystal clear water gushing out from the under parched lava rock that is the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows, Tsavo West is a beautiful, rugged wilderness. The savannah ecosystem comprises of open grasslands, scrublands, and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges including the Poacher's Lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds in the plains below. Tsavo West offers some of the most magnificent game viewing in the world and attractions include elephant, rhino, Hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, Buffalos, diverse plant and bird species including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler.
Itinerary
Day 1: Mombasa (North Coast or South Coast) to Tsavo West National Park
After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel on the North Coast and transferred to Tsavo West National Park. It will take 3 hours from Mombasa. It is a scenic drive through the Highlands of Kenya experiencing its varied biodiversity. Entering the park with game drive en-route to the lodge for check-in and lunch.
Salt Lick Safari Lodge is located in the heart of the Taita Hills Wildlife Sanctuary, a private wildlife conservancy at the foot of the Taita Hills. With its its own functional airstrip in close proximity to the lodge, the sanctuary covers a protected area of 28,000 acres on an altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level (3,600 ft.).

Day 2: Tsavo West National Park
On this day you will can choose to have a full day game drive with picnic lunch boxes or stay around the Salt Lick Tunnel - This unique guest experience at Salt Lick Safari Lodge allows guests to observe wildlife up close as they come to quench their thirst at the waterhole. The experience is more rewarding during dry spells/season as large groups of elephants, buffaloes, zebras and various antelopes (sometime trailed by big cats) come for scarce water which is provided for by a well-positioned water hole. A visit to the Mzima Springs to the Shetani lava flows.
Later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tsavo West National Park to Mombasa (North Coast or South Coast)
This morning we enjoy our breakfast then check-out to embark on your journey back to Mombasa to be dropped at your beach hotel.
Unbelievable but true, our good bush moments have come to an end. Not empty handed though. With us are photographs – a capture of the special moments we have had on this tour to immortalize the experience. Our guide driver will drop you at your Hotel in Mombasa.

Day 4 to Day 10: Mombasa Beach Holiday at Diani Reef Beach Resort & Spa
Spend the days at leisure at your Beach Resort enjoying the diverse beach & marine activities.
