Travel around Karnataka, land of fragrant sandalwood, of historical temples, of rich wildlife and of a long coastline with a finely balanced mix of natural attractions. Then, discover Kerala - the land of spices, of manicured tea estates and picturesque landscape and a unique network of rivers, backwaters and lagoons and beaches.
Day 01 : Arrive In Bangalore
Arrive into Bangalore. Welcome and transfer to hotel. Later, sightseeing of this 16th century capital of Karnataka, also called the Garden City. It is famous as the Silicon Valley of India. Visit the majestic Vidhan Sabha - The state administrative head quarters, Lal bagh, the National Museum having sizeable collection of ancient weapons, stone carvings, pottery, painting etc. Overnight.
Day 02 : Bangalore - Kabini (Surface)
Next morning depart for Kabini Wild life Sanctuary. Nestled amidst the Karapur forest of the Nagarhole National Park, this sanctuary is populated by elephants, wild boars, sambar, chital and other inhabitants. It also has a rich population of tigers. A team of naturalists will enlighten you on the wildlife here and take you to tour Kabini, a scenic delight, which once was the hunting lodge of the erstwhile Mysore Maharajas. Overnight.
Day 03 : Kabini
Enjoy an early morning safari to the jungle to see its inhabitants – the ferocious tiger, the graceful elephant and the jumping antelopes to name a few. In the afternoon, proceed for the sportive Coracle ride (local basket boats). Overnight.
Day 04 : Kabini - Coorg
Depart for Coorg, a tiny district in Southern India, endowed with unparalleled natural beauty. At Coorg, visit Abbey Falls and then, trek to the top of Tadeyendamol, the highest peak in the region. Overnight.
Day 05 : Coorg - Sultan Battery
Following morning depart for Sultan Battery - a picturesque place in Wayanad District and an area that breathes history and legend. Located 2600 ft above sea level, it has acres and acres of lush green land interspersed with perennial streams and rolling hills. Stay in the tranquility of a plantation bungalow on the Kuppamudi Coffee Estate. Overnight.
Day 06: Sultan Battery
Relax. Swim in the beautiful pool or lounge in a hammock, or if you are energetic there are 400 acres of coffee fields for you to explore. You can also visit the nearby Eddekal caves where the rock carvings date back to 2500 BC or the nearby Muthanga National Park. Overnight.
Day 07: Sultan Battery - Calicut - Guruvayur
Proceed for Guruvayur - considered to be the abode of Lord Krishna on Earth. Enroute visit Calicut, an age old commercial town. The Portuguese led by Vasco-Da-Gama first landed in India at Kappad, near Calicut in 1498 AD. Upon arrival at Guruvayur, visit the elephant orphanage and the temple. Overnight.
Day 08: Guruvayur - Cochin
Depart for Cochin. With a fine natural harbour, Cochin is and has been Kerala's center of trade for innumerable centuries. With its beautiful setting on a cluster of islands, narrow peninsulas and a long history, Cochin has amongst the oldest churches in India, 500 years old Portuguese houses, cantilevered Chinese fishing nets followed by Jewtown, complete with immaculately preserved synagogues. Overnight
Day 09: Cochin - Houseboat
Midday, proceed to board "Kettuvallam," traditional HouseBoat made-up of wood of Jacquier (Anjili) and tied with coconut ropes, which offers simple comfort, but the experience is unique. It takes you through the tropical countryside, enchanting backwaters, narrow canals and a vast expanse of paddy fields. Overnight.
Day 10: Houseboat - Mararikulam
In the morning depart for Mararikulam, which is reputed as one of the most picturesque beach villages that dot the coastline. Relax by the beach. Overnight.
Day 11: Mararikulam
Day at leisure to relax by the beach or by the pool. Overnight.
Day 12: Mararikulam - Cochin
Transfer to Cochin airport to board flight for onward destination.
